What a day we had! Starting the day off with the Run Warren 5K was a blast, but then the Cruisin' 53 car show and parade put it over the top! We had great music, great food, and great weather. But the greatest thing of all was watching the community come together, make friends and talk cars.

On behalf of the Warren Community Foundation and the communities of Warren and Center Line, we cordially invite you to the Cruisin' 53 car cruise! Our founders have years of experience organizing cruises throughout Southeast Michigan and are thrilled to bring this exciting event to the community. With multitudes of beautiful and unique cars lining Van Dyke/M-53, great food and drink, rockin' live music and more planned, Cruisin' 53 is quickly becoming a beloved annual party.
The purpose of the cruise in addition to quality of life for the residents of Warren and Center Line is to raise revenue for local community investment in the two communities.This is a joint effort between the City of Center Line and the City of Warren with the proceeds of the event being distributed equally through the Warren Community Foundation and the Center Line Festival Foundation.
The day is packed with fun activities! Van Dyke will be alive, from Cruise Headquarters at City Center Plaza (formerly known as Essco Square) to our hotspots at Warren City Hall and Maybelle Burnett Library, with food trucks, games, family fun, music, and the main attraction, the car show and parade featuring sleek, historic and customized cars of all shapes and sizes! Concurrently, the Center Line Independence Festival will be in full swing! Awards for the car show will be presented at 4:00pm and the cruisers are encouraged to hang into the night, though make sure to stop by the festival for fireworks at dusk!

THE 4TH ANNUAL RUN WARREN 5K

This 5K promotes health and fitness for the whole family and raises money for underserved groups. This year we have blended it with the cruise as our morning programming! The course is certified by the United States Association of Track and Field and offers separate competitive categories from teens to people in their 80s! For those who are looking for a slower pace, we hold a Senior Walk around City Square and a Kids Fun - Run where kids can run wild in a safe environment. A t-shirt, medal and snacks are provided with the cost of registration.

A prize of $1K will be awarded to the athletic department of the area high school that has the most pledged support! That means each runner that is a student, alum, parent, faculty member, etc will contribute one point towards the total.

Monitoring of the race will be provided by Eastside Racing Company, which has served the Detroit Metropolitan Area for 30 years. Each runner will be given an electronic chip that will measure the distance traveled and the time it took. Results will available shortly thereafter on their website.

The main event! Van Dyke was alive with activity during our inaugural year and now we're bigger and better. Food, live music and of course, cars of all shapes and sizes! Gearheads can set up their chairs and talk shop while other attendees can enjoy the visual splendor of the car show. Add a parade and some prize money and you've got a banner summer day for Warren and Center Line. And it's all to benefit the community. Between the the registration fees and our sponsor contributions, we are the rare cruise that raises thousands for local nonprofits and groups.
CAR SHOW REGISTRATION
ONLINE REGISTRATION CLOSES THURSDAY, JUNE 3
Our check-in table will be set up in a prominent location at headquarters for ease of access. All online registrants will be assigned a parking spot upon arrival and must check-in at the desk after parking to receive their number tag for the judges and their car plaque. If you arrive with a car unregistered, you will follow the same protocol and pay at the desk ($5 additional charged, $25 total).
CAR PARADE ON ROUTE ALONG VAN DYKE
Starting at 11:30am, our staff will begin lining up all cruise participants within City Center Plaza for the commencement of the car parade at noon. The Grand Marshall and police vehicles will lead the parade northbound on Van Dyke with the official turnaround at 14 Mile Road. After the turnaround, cruises can remain on the route for as long as they'd like before returning to their parking spot at headquarters.
Cash prizes and certificates will be awarded in both Stock and Modified categories and one overall Best in Show. The judges will make their way through all entries at the close of registration (12:00pm) and use the same rubric. Scoring is a point-based system in five areas: body, engine, interior, paint and wheels/tires.
The bands will be set up on a large stage. Some seating provided, but lawn chairs are encouraged!

Three placements and prizes will be awarded to cars in both Stock and Modified entrance pools.
FIRST PLACE: $100
SECOND PLACE: $50
THIRD PLACE: $25
OVERALL BEST IN SHOW (ONLY ONE): $150

Every parade needs a leader. This year we are pleased to welcome DANA Corporation as the Grand Marshal of our car parade!
Out in front of the classic cars and souped up hot rods will be our friends from DANA, guiding all participants northbound on Van Dyke until the turnaround at 14 Mile Road.

Center Line Independence Festival is a celebration of over 80 years of traditional small town lifestyle in the Heart of Metro-Detroit. The city of Center Line goes all out for this beloved annual party. The three day festival will have live bands, carnival, fireworks, food vendors, and craft vendors.
