CRUISE CANCELLED DUE TO COVID-19
We regret to announce that Cruisin' 53, as well as the Run Warren 5K, planned for Saturday, June 6, has been cancelled due to the pandemic. Back in March we opted to monitor the situation, but it has become clear that to hold the event is highly dangerous and most likely will be illegal since we anticipate the Stay-At-Home order from Governor Whitmer to be extended into the summer.
Our friends in Center Line will be meeting in early May to make a final determination for the Center Line Independence Festival. We will update this site with new information when a decision has been reached.
Cruisin' 53 will be back in 2021! We look forward to the day when we can gather once again to celebrate the strength and resilience of our community (and see some awesome cars!).
SATURDAY, JUNE 6, 2020
PROUDLY PRESENTED BY:
On behalf of the Warren Community Foundation and the communities of Warren and Center Line, we cordially invite you to the Cruisin' 53 car cruise! Our founders have years of experience organizing cruises throughout Southeast Michigan and are thrilled to bring this exciting event to the community. With multitudes of beautiful and unique cars lining Van Dyke/M-53, great food and drink, rockin' live music and more planned, Cruisin' 53 is quickly becoming a beloved annual party.
The purpose of the cruise in addition to quality of life for the residents of Warren and Center Line is to raise revenue for local community investment in the two communities. This is a joint effort between the City of Center Line and the City of Warren with the proceeds of the event being distributed equally through the Warren Community Foundation and the Center Line Festival Foundation.
The day is packed with fun activities! Van Dyke will be alive, from Cruise Headquarters at City Center Plaza (formerly known as Essco Square) to our hotspots at Warren City Hall and Maybelle Burnett Library, with food trucks, games, family fun, music, and the main attraction, the car show and parade featuring sleek, historic and customized cars of all shapes and sizes! Concurrently, the Center Line Independence Festival will be in full swing! Awards for the car show will be presented at 4:00pm and the cruisers are encouraged to hang into the night, though make sure to stop by the festival for fireworks at dusk!
